Antoine Guillaumont
Coptic-text scholar and critical-edition coeditor
Who they are
Antoine Guillaumont was one of the scholars who prepared the 1959 critical edition of the Coptic Gospel of Thomas. Together with Henri-Charles Puech, Gilles Quispel, Walter Till and Yassah Abd al-Masih, he helped make the text available for modern study. This is an editorial and translation contribution, distinct from the ancient text’s authorship or the authenticity of its attributed sayings.
His work connects manuscript discovery with the editorial decisions that organize the Gospel of Thomas for modern readers.
