Who they are

Buzz Aldrin served as Apollo 11’s lunar-module pilot and landed on the Moon with Neil Armstrong while Michael Collins remained in lunar orbit. His contribution was part of a mission joining spacecraft, flight control, tracking and many other teams. The crew’s postflight debrief preserves practical observations about operating that system.

He represents directly documented human exploration beyond Earth and the participant records behind the Moon-landing milestone.

    Apollo 11 Technical Crew Debriefing

Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins review the mission’s equipment and operations with NASA after their return. The detailed debrief provides participants’ technical observations rather than a later popular retelling.
