Mitch Stanley
Amateur astronomer and Phoenix Lights witness
Who they are
Mitch Stanley is an amateur astronomer whose telescope observation was reported by Tony Ortega during the 1997 Phoenix Lights debate. Stanley said he could distinguish separate aircraft where other observers described a formation or large shape. His account provides a specific competing observation; it does not automatically account for every report that evening.
He is a witness to one portion of the Phoenix Lights sequence, with an observation relevant to its interpretation.
