How pricing works

There's no price list. You read something I wrote, or someone sent you, or you're building the same kind of life I am. By the time you're filling out the form you've already done most of the qualifying.

Need something that doesn't fit the three tiers? Tell me on the form. If I can help, I'll quote it. If I can't, I probably know who can.

How it works

  1. 01

    Inquiry

Pick a tier (or describe a custom project) on the form. Name your price. Two sentences about what you're after.

  2. 02

    Reply

I read every inquiry and reply within a day or two. If we're a fit, we set up a short call.

  3. 03

    Build

I do the work, configure everything, and walk you through it before we go live. Concierge includes an on-site visit.

  4. 04

    Handoff

You get the keys. I document everything. Async support window kicks in. You own it from there.

Frequently asked questions

How does "pay what you want" actually work?
There's no price list. The inquiry form lets you name your own number. If you're early and lean, pay less. If you want to support the work, pay more. The work and the standard don't change either way.
Is there a floor?
Not officially, but I do reserve the right to decline. If you genuinely can't pay much and still want the work done, say so on the form. I take on a few engagements at cost each quarter.
What's included in "hardware" for Concierge?
Typically a UniFi router and a Raspberry Pi 5 kit running Pi-hole, plus cables and accessories. If you want higher-end UniFi gear, additional Pi nodes, or more capacity, we discuss that as part of the inquiry — no surprises and no markup on hardware.
I'm not in Austin. Can I still get Concierge?
Yes. The Concierge tier assumes Austin metro on-site work. For elsewhere in Texas or the US, travel and lodging are quoted on top — usually a flat add-on. Tell me where you are on the form and we'll work it out.
Do I need to be technical to work with you?
No. Handling the technical complexity is the whole point. You'll understand what was built and why, but you won't need to touch a terminal or manage infrastructure.
How long does each tier take?
Starter is a few days, mostly waiting on DNS. Standard runs about 1–2 weeks from kickoff to launch. Concierge takes 2–3 weeks plus a half-day on-site for the install. Timelines depend on how quickly you can get me content and access.
What does "sovereign" actually mean?
You own the infrastructure outright. No subscription required to keep it live. No platform that can delete your account. No algorithm that can bury your work. If I disappeared tomorrow, your stack keeps running.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance?
Engagements are one-time by design. After your support window closes, you're running on tools any IT person can pick up. You're never dependent on me. If you want to add features later, I'm available for ad-hoc work.
